Meet Image Comics creator
Andre
Szymanowicz
artist of the new Image Comics series HELL YEAH

Saturday,
March 10th
1 to 3pm

Image Comics artist Andre Szymanowicz [si-man-o-vich] will be sketching and signing copies of the debut issue of his new series HELL YEAH on Saturday, March 10th at Dewey's Comic City, 13 Park Avenue, Madison NJ, from 1 to 3pm. The first issue of HELL YEAH will be available on Wednesday, March 7th.

Andre, a former student of Dover NJ's Joe Kubert School of Comic Art, is a local independent artist and graphic designer. His work has appeared in a number of projects including Comic Book Tattoo, the Eisner & Harvey award winning POPGUN anthology, and Elephantmen. He also has done coloring work for DC Comics, including several issues of The Spirit, and a number of Superman and Batman stories. HELL YEAH is his first ongoing series featuring both his pencils and inks.

" Hell Yeah looks at the 2nd generation of superheroes," said Szymanowicz. " Its 20 years after superheroes first arrived. They have been around for a bit, doing their superhero stuff and having their effect on culture."

hellyeah #1 cover"The world of Hell Yeah shows what happens after that and focuses on a character named Ben Day. He eventually discovers that versions of him self are being murdered in alternate dimensions, and he has to figure out how to stop it from happening to him!

"What excites me about all this is that [writer Joe] Keatinge is telling a story here that makes it possible to have everything we love in a comic," continued Szymanowiz. " At some points, you can have time-traveling, dimension hopping, steampunk and dinosaurs all in the breadth of about 3 pages! When I go to the comic book store, I look for stuff like this, and now I get to draw it! It's a lot of fun. "

"...the story would not be half as affective as it is without Andre Szymanowicz's pencils bringing it to life. The clean, angular nature of his work fits the polished exterior of the world the characters live in... [Szymanowicz] brings a distinctly modern style to his characters ...that is absolutely vital to the story being told." - Joshua Mocle, Multiversitycomics.com.

"The artwork here is rather well done; ...[it] smacks of grit and bare bones. There is a minimalist feel to it that is befitting to the tone of the comic. There are a lot of different colors used, and each one was used to show the emotion of the setting." - Dan Kester, theouthousers.com

Mark your calendar for March 10th and be here between 1-3pm and meet the Andre Szymanowicz!
