From the President: It's Time to Vote Julie Briggs, CHRVA President
It seems like only a couple of weeks ago since I welcomed you to the 2012 season. Now the adult season is almost wrapped up and the Junior season will wind down soon as well.
So far this season we are in growth mode. As of March 20, CHRVA membership is at 8600 members, which is up from last season. Our growth has brought the region some rewards from the National Office. We have been offered extra bids to the Junior National Championships, which is really exciting.
The Spring issue of Digs is generally devoted to the annual Board of Directors election. This issue is no different.

Junior Boys News
The season is winding down, and so far we have had 3 teams who have qualified at Bid Tournaments for the OPEN Division of Nationals - NVVA 14-1, NVVA 16-1, and MVP 17-1. Congratulations! For a smaller region in terms of the number of boys' teams, and one that doesn't have boys volleyball as a high school state sport, we have had a high percentage of our teams qualifying for OPEN Nationals in comparison to other regions.
We are continuing to try and grow the boys program, and increase the number of boys' teams in the region. We are hoping to add onto the programs offered to boys, particularly those for younger players. Adult players, Girls programs - we need your help! Promote the sport to any boys involved with you and your teams -sons, nephews, cousins, brothers, and even boyfriends who attend the tournaments are a great place to start! Email me for more information.
