The weekly merger
Dear Friend,

Spring has SPRUNG! With this change of the seasons come many exciting events at merge.

First of all, it's local restaurant week this week!

We are offering these amazing deals all week:

Lunch for Two
2 wraps, 2 drinks, 2 cookies (chocolate chip V, GF)
$20.12

3 course dinner
1 - A glass of fresh-made juice OR one of our wines
2- Soup OR house salad
3 - An entree off of our menu including:
Potato Kale Stew, Vegan Alfredo, Raw Pizza, or Chicken Pesto Pasta

Secondly, we are so proud of our Chef Kate Elliott who won this weekend's
Nickel City Chef competition working as sous chef for Chef Chris Daigler of Encore Restaurant vs. Adam Goetz of Sample Restaurant.  The event was remarkable, hosted at Artisan Kitchen and Bath, in a beautifully restored warehouse on Amherst Street.  An audience cheered on the competition as the teams had one hour to prepare a three-course meal using secret ingredient local beef from O'Brien's Farm Fresh Meats and Smokehouse in Hamburg, NY.  Three local judges then devoured the meal and critiqued each dish.  It was such a close call as each team created amazing dishes.  But Chris and Kate won with a perfect 60... breaking a three-way tie for the highest score ever in one of these competitions!

Third, we are keeping the days and nights action packed with awesome music, delicious food, and our very special Wordy Wednesdays.  (See below for more info!)

Fourth, check out our upcoming Spring Yoga & Raw Foods cleanse hosted by Eliza (co-owner of merge) and Cynthia Juhre, owner of Buffalo Yoga Studio.

Last... we started a FARM!  Check below for more info :)

These four strangers happen to meet on the roof of a high building called Topper's House in London on New Year's Eve. each with the intent of committing suicide. SHOREWOOD FARM

merge's newest project

That's right, we're starting a local organic farm for the restaurant!!!

As we get more and more into the local food movement we can't help but want to jump right in and get our hands dirty!  So we're starting a little farm of our own in Lake View, NY.

We've begun laying out the cardboard for our six 6x12 raised beds.  Our intention is to grow our own organic heirloom herbs and vegetables so that throughout the year we can daily we can harvest and bring in unique and specialized elements to add to your dishes here at merge.  We are also growing a large field of wildflowers which will add to the decor on the tables at merge throughout the summer.

We are starting small, but hoping to add chickens and a goat or two in the next couple of years.

Of course we will still work with many other local organic farms to deliver you the highest quality produce that makes all our dishes exceptional including Oles Farm, Arden Farms, & Thundermountain.

Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to catch up with us.  We are so grateful for the amazing community here in Buffalo including you - all our family and friends!

Sincerely,

Sarah & Eliza Schneider, co-creators
Kate Elliott, chef
& the entire merge team
