Welcome to the February issue of Wake Up! You’re Snoring… A few months ago in my blog, I made the point that, while men are generally more likely to suffer from obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), they are also more likely to get tested and treated for the disorder. That’s not good, because more women than previously thought are suffering from OSA, and leaving it unchecked can have dire consequences on a woman’s cardiovascular health.
This month’s main article explains how important it is that women get checked for sleep apnea. We also explore how a Mediterranean diet and exercise can help ease sleep apnea symptoms.
Sincerely,
Dr. Volpi & the Team

Did You Know?
Sleep apnea is often misdiagnosed in women. Some doctors don’t associate sleep apnea as a female disorder. Or, women may complain of fatigue, morning headaches, mood swings and insomnia, instead of classic male sleep apnea symptoms, such as snoring and paused breathing. |
