If you're a morning person, it may have to do with your genetic makeup. German scientists recently pinpointed the "morning person gene." Specifically, it is a protein called the ABCC9 gene. Subjects of the study who had two copies of one common variant of the gene ABCC9 slept for a much shorter period of time than subjects with two copies of the other version of the ABCC9 gene.
