Sleep Apnea Treatment Improves Golfers’ Games
In a recent study conducted on golfers who were diagnosed with moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea, those who received treatment through nasal positive airway pressure (NPAP) therapy not only improved their health, but their golf games, too. It’s long been known that sleep apnea can cause daytime sleepiness and cognitive impairment, but never has it been so clearly demonstrated than by watching the golfer’s scores improve through treatment. Sleep Apnea: Serious as a Heart Attack
When people have heart attacks, they most often have them during the day, usually between 6 a.m. and noon. Doctors believe that is because for most people it is commonly a high-stress time of day. When someone has a nighttime heart attack it signifies that something unusual has happened because it is a time when the heart should be at rest.
