Helping You Connect With The Animals You Love!
February
2012
 Lydia
Greetings and Happy Winter to you!

I hope you are staying warm and enjoying the peaceful winter season.

As you've likely heard, the year of 2012 has many people talking. The topic of the Mayan calendar stopping this year is causing negative and fearful perceptions. Truly, this can be thought of as a year of positive new ways of operating in our culture and in our world.

I believe the animals have been preparing people for some time now about the new ways of being. They have been actively bringing us into our hearts. Less thinking, more feeling. Not to mention, lesson after lesson about being in the moment!

I will be sharing What The Animals Have To Say About 2012 in a live Tele-Talk on March 3rd. (See details below.) I believe you'll find some enlightening messages from many wise animals.

Embrace this New Year with optimism, curiosity, and courage. Your animal companions will continue to guide you along the way.

And no matter how obstructed your path may seem with various difficulties in your life, remember to always look forward. Where there is a will, there is a way!

Blessings to you in this powerful year ~ Terri

Meet Jai ...

Jai & Gabe

Ever wonder who that delightful person is answering my phone and emails?

This is Jai Jamison and her guy Gabe. They light up my life with their friendship. My dog, Amber Rose, also happens to have a serious crush on Gabe. :-)

Jai - (pronounced like "hi" with a J) - works a few hours a day from her home office returning calls and emails to you. That's why you might notice "blocked" on your caller ID. She doesn't actually sit in my office. So we keep her phone number private to prevent confusion.

When you let Jai know you need an appointment with me, her job is to offer several options allowing you to choose the best time for your schedule. We do our best to get you scheduled within 1-2 weeks, Mondays thru Fridays. When I'm traveling, it can take longer. Established clients always get in sooner than new clients. And, if there is an urgent situation, Jai will get you onto my schedule within 1-2 days.

I also offer brief appointments on Fridays for established clients only, for up to 30 minutes. These are good time slots when you have just a few issues to discuss with your animals. Whatever your needs might be, Jai will be happy to assist you.

Good News Update

On My Pay It Forward Campaign...

Hans
Hans - My Hero

In my previous newsletter, I shared my story of becoming an Animal Communicator, which
blossomed thanks to the help of a special dog named Hans. (See archived newsletters on my website for full story.)

Sandra and Clyde Young, the wonderful humans that loved Hans through his nice long life, have been key volunteers in making a much needed shelter happen in Pueblo, Colorado. Their dream was born, together with many hard working volunteers, to create a magnificent no-kill shelter. However, then the struggling economy created a funding crisis, threatening the completion of the new facility.

My experience with Hans during an animal communication consultation changed my life forever. In honor of him, I put out a request for my readers to join a "Pay It Forward" campaign to support the much needed shelter. Many of you quickly responded with donations of $5 or more. And, I'm thrilled to report that YOU HELPED RAISE $4,000!!!!!

PAWS for Life - Animal Welfare & Protection Society opened it's doors in July with an exciting Open House that nearly 1,000 people attended. This lovely facility is up and running and your help made a difference! Just in the month of January they adopted out 97 dogs. The cat rescue and adoption efforts are underway as well. All is flowing! Yay!

For The Love Of Dogs - One Woman Starts A New Business

Fran Blum of Boulder, Colorado, went through a difficult time in 2009. An experience that most animal lovers understand all too well. Her special dog friend, Mac, was diagnosed with a very serious cancer known as osteosarcoma.  As Mac went through a major surgery and cancer treatment, it was essential to keep him comfortable. Fran explains, "Colorado had a bitter cold winter that year. None of the coats I bought for Mac fit properly. As a result I had to have coats made for him to keep him safe from cold, wind, and snow."

They met other canine patients during their visits to the oncology veterinary services at Colorado State University. Fran noticed that many dogs had thin, short-hair or had been shaved before surgery leaving them exposed to the winter weather.
Mac Blum
The beautiful boy Mac.
She told me, "Mac and I realized many dogs like older dogs, dogs recovering from an illness, or even long-haired dogs may need extra layers to protect them in winter. We decided to make really warm winter coats for our community of friends, both healthy and ill."

Fran began designing quality coats for their dog friends. Mac loved wearing his custom made winter coats (especially the black leather one with the Fonzi collar) and was very thankful for the warmth they provided.

Mountain Mutt Dog Coats are designed to provide warm, weather resistant protection. These hand made coats and sweaters are produced in high-quality technical fabrics including soft-shells, fleeces, as well as ripstop from recycled materials in many beautiful colors.

Chests, necks and tummys are well covered by wide panels. Each coat has a collar designed to protect the vulnerable neck area. Shoulder openings have been carefully designed to maximize coverage and range-of-motion for playing and running. Contoured seams in the hip area help the coats round to the body's shape. Velcro strips as fasteners allow ease of entry and adjust to your dog's individual shape.

The coats come in 5 sizes. If your dog has a special need, just let Fran know and she will provide a custom designed coat that fits right to keep your loved one warm. Go check out the coats at  www.MountainMuttDogCoats.com.

TIPS FROM TERRI - NOW AVAILABLE WEEKLY

As you know, my commitment to you is to stay in touch with newsletters via email no more than on a quarterly basis.  Now, based on many requests, I'm providing weekly "Tips From Terri" in the format of very short emails. These will highlight animal wisdom, health and well-being, and urgent issues such as pet food recalls.

To receive these weekly emails, please go to the top of this newsletter. In the right hand column, click on the link to update your profile preferences. Choose "Terri's Weekly Animal Wisdom." You can easily unsubscribe at any time.

Because of my commitment to you to only send 2-4 emails per year, I have not sent additional news your way. But, recently there were many pet food recalls that I found important. This is another reason to be offering weekly "Tips From Terri." This way, I can keep you updated with pertinent and timely information.

I look forward to sharing with you more frequently!

In the meantime, recall info to be aware of:

IAMS HEALTH SMART PUPPY DRY DOG FOOD - click here for info

RIVER RUN AND MARKSMAN DRY DOG FOOD - click here for info

CHICKEN JERKY TREATS FROM CHINA - click here for info

I highly recommend you read any package of food items and toys - if they are made in China, then do not buy them. Read all labels carefully. It often looks like the products are made in USA, but they are usually just distributed by a USA company. It will say "Made In China" in fine print.

Terri Likes This Pet Product Company...

This company was brought to my attention by Tina Carlson. She is excited to share the products with you because of the positive results she has seen with Miller, her handsome English Bull Terrier.
Miller Carlson
Good dog, Miller!

This all natural, chemical-free product works for animals and people. The soothing shampoos and sprays are derived from fruit, vegetable, botanical and herbal ingredients.

Tina shares, "We use Keys MetaClean Shampoo on Miller and it has helped him tremendously.  His coat is now bright glossy white and the acne on his forehead and nose is gone, as are the dry rough spots on his shoulders.  And the shampoo rinses out super fast with no residue."

The Carlsons were on an RV trip when they met the couple who developed Keys Soaps.  The founders have an incredible story that they share on their web site and blog at Keys-Soap.com.  In short, a loving husband decided to create a product to help his wife recover from melanoma because no one else could.

Tina says, "The product-line also includes a natural insect repellant and healing spray called RediCare. We use it on Miller and ourselves all summer long.  There is also a healing lotion called MetaCare and many other products that I use regularly and recommend.  It has been three years now that my husband and I have used Keys products in our home, and I know we are all better for it."
