Greetings from the Chamber!
We are very excited about all of the things happening in and through the Chamber, YOUR Chamber. Our community involvement is growing and our networking is improving, creating a robust environment for you and your business to thrive!
In the first 60 days of this year we added ten new member companies to the Chamber and awarded well over $1000.00 to local schools and outreach programs. All of this money was donated by caring people who live and work in Orangevale. At this month's networking luncheon we recognized unsung heroes in the community. Volunteers and business people who work behind the scenes for years and never ask for anything in return.
Thank you to our contributors and volunteers. I am proud to work and live in a place where folks care so deeply and continue to support each other. I urge you to get involved. Whether it's volunteering at the Chamber office, helping out at Pow Wow Days, working the American River Parkway Clean up, or reading to children at a school, find a way to contribute. It feels good.
To Your Success!

"It just feels better to give than receive, and I am excited about what is happening in our community", noted Orangevale Chamber of Commerce president, Darlene Lyons, as she left Almondale Academy after presenting 2011's first monthly $500 Orangevale Chamber Gives Back community investment.
For over 30 years, Almondale Academy has been offering students individualized academic attention while fostering their self-esteem. Located on the corner of Greenback and Almond and school to many Orangevale K-12 students, Almondale Academy offers a State of California standards-based education that addresses age appropriate topics including phoenetics, reading, arithmetic, state history, world history, algebra, physical science, social science, government and economics.
School principal and high school teacher, Andrea Woody, was excited to learn that Almondale would be the recipient of January's $500 Chamber Gives Back community investment. There is a real felt need for updated textbooks for students, lab equipment, and other supplies directly related to impacting students' education - and the community investment will be used to enhance these aspects of the Orangevale school.
The Orangevale Chamber of Commerce is utilizing a private donation allocated specifically to help fund programs and services that directly impact the community of Orangevale. By investing back into the community through chamber businesses and organizations, the Orangevale Chamber hopes to inspire others to follow suit and find ways to give back. This is the first of twelve monthly investments to be made into the community, and any existing or future chamber member can apply. The Orangevale Chamber of Commerce is pleased to have Almondale Academy as a member of the local chamber, and is excited to continue investing back into our community through this program.
