4 Tips on How to Advertise, Cheap!

1. Develop appropriate promotion tools; flyers, broshures, signs. Then evaluate the effectiveness and what these tools say about your business.

2. Signage should be a major part your marketing strategy.

3. Be sure your business is listed under the right heading in any business directory. Not every business needs a nice display ad. Be judicious.

4. Get involved in your community; join the chamber of commerce, business organizations, service clubs and charities. Network yourself.

The Little School That Could

Golden Valley Charter School in Orangevale recently got good news.   They exceeded the state target of 800 API on their 2009 STAR tests!  In 2008, the public charter school made the decision to improve the overall API (Academic Performance Index), and placed a special emphasis on math.  The main question for the faculty and staff was, "...how do we increase our STAR test scores while at the same time holding true to our curriculum inspired by Waldorf Education?" Well, it seems that they found the answer.  They increased their score by an amazing 77 points-and they did it with Waldorf Education methods!  This increase was substantial - no other school in the local area achieved this goal.

To learn more about this great school please attend the January Business Mixer held Tuesday January 26th from 6-8:30pm. You may also visit their website by clicking here.
It wouldn't be the Holiday Season without our Community!!

Despite the cold and rainy weather the Orangevale Community flocked to the 4th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony last Friday, at the Orangevale Recreation & Park District. Parents and children were able to take part in crafts, holiday activities, refreshments, train rides, and entertainment.

The Orangevale Recreation & Park District would like to thank the following sponsors and volunteers who helped make the 4th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting a huge success: Orange Vale Water Company, Sierra Auto Service Center, Wells Fargo of Orangevale, Save Mart of Orangevale, Raley's of Fair Oaks, Orangevale Meat Shop, Starbucks of Orangevale and Folsom, New York Life Insurance - Steve Morgan, Mark's One Stop Shop, Orangevale Woman's Club, Orangevale Chamber of Commerce, Orangevale Grange #354, Kettle Kreations, Sacramento Metro Fire Department, Lisa Montes Orangevale Honorary Mayor, Louis Pasteur Middle School Band and Choir, Harmony Express, and Inflate the Fun. Without these amazing organizations and businesses close to six hundred people would not have been able to ring in this Holiday season.

For more details about this event or the Orangevale Recreation and Park District upcoming programs, check out their website at www.ovparks.com or call (916) 988-4373.
