2011 Budget Passed with No Tax Increase

2011 BudgetThe Board of Supervisors on December 1 passed a $10.7 million dollar budget for 2011 with no tax increase. To address the declining fund reserve, the Board of Supervisors authorized transferring $742,335 from the Cable Fund into the General Fund in 2011. This transfer allowed for no tax increase in 2011, and the Supervisors will be considering other cost-reductions for future years.

New Requirements: Haulers Required
to Notify Township

Haulers must now notify the township when self-contained onlot septic systems are cleaned out.

The notification change is part of the updated onlot disposal system (OLDS) ordinance, passed at the November 17 Board meeting. The OLDS ordinance still requires pumping out and inspections of the septic tank every 3 years. Notification was a homeowners' responsibility before.

A septic tank is normally the first stop for the wastewater after it leaves a home. Proper clean out ensures that all of the septic system's components are kept clear and functioning properly and protects the water supplying your well from contamination.

To remain in compliance, please make sure your septic system pumping contractor notifies the township immediately following the completion of pumping.

If you have any questions regarding your system, please feel free to contact the Planning & Zoning Department at 215-968-2868. You can find a list of septic system contractors on our website.
