We are having quite the exciting summer! Read on to learn more about our fantastic new Executive Director, Julie Slavet, and alll of our exciting upcoming events over the next two months!

TTF WELCOMES Julie Slavet AS OUR NEW Executive Director

Please join us in welcoming Julie Slavet as the Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed Partnership's newest Executive Director. Julie was selected from among a group of highly qualified finalists for the position and brings to TTF talents and experience that will be critical as we move forward with the our dedicated partners in implementing ambitious stormwater solutions in the watershed.

Julie brings over 20 years of increasing responsibility in community affairs, program development, and personnel management. Most recently, she served as the senior district staff member for Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz, leading constituent services and outreach efforts in a district of 650,000 constituents in Montgomery County and Northeast Philadelphia. Throughout her career, Julie has been instrumental in building relationships with elected and appointed officials at all levels of government, as well as in corporate, educational and community-based organizations. Prior to serving as District Director, Julie expanded the programs, membership and reputation of the Eastern Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce while serving as Executive Vice President. Julie also serves as a Director of the Hiway Theatre Board, an Advisor to the Jenkintown Community Alliance, and a Director of the Montgomery County Democratic Women's Leadership Initiative.

As Julie learns about TTF's goals, ongoing projects, and challenges, she will reach out to introduce herself to our Board, partners, neighborhoods, and funders to hear your helpful thoughts and tap your valuable expertise and resources.

July 19: Vernon Park Stakeholders Meeting

Kathryn Ott-Lovell, the director of the Fairmount Park Conservancy, will present information about the work they have done in Hunting Park, specifically around the creation of a master plan for the park, potentially as a model for our future work in Vernon Park and to learn more about our group and interests for Vernon Park.

July 20: Vernon Park Clean-Up Day

Volunteers are needed for our "Every Other Wednesday Clean-up" in Vernon Park! We will be cleaning up trash and gardening with the Philly Green Machine Project.

July 29: Tacony Creek Park Cleanup

The Philadelphia Water Department, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and the TTF Watershed Partnership are working together to restore and revitalize the Tacony creek and trail system. Come help cleanup a section of the creek and lend a hand in this exciting project.
