FEATURED SUPPLIER
FORNAX BREAD COMPANY
Miles away: 2.2 miles
What They Make:Hand-crafted
European style bread.
About the Company: Chris and Kimberly Fallon opened Fornax Bread Company in
1997. Their passion is to make fresh baked treats from scratch using wholesome
ingredients just like your grandmother may have used (while listening to Led
Zeppelin).
Fornax Bread is named
after the Roman goddess of the ovens and Artisan Bread Bakers. Their signature
bread is the "boule", a deep flavored slow fermented and slightly sour loaf of
milled wheat, organic whole wheat and organic whole rye flours. They also offer French baguettes, seeded rye,
multi-grain with sunflower and sesame seeds & fresh rosemary bread, to name
a few.
More than just bread,
they also make breakfast pastries, delicious cookies, sandwiches, homemade
soups and salads. It is definitely worth an excursion to Roslindale to check
out this bakery!
Fornax
has been delivering bread fresh everyday to City Feed for retail sale
since we opened in 2000! They make us amazing
English muffins for our egg sandwiches. Their multi-grain bread makes
our #2 & #7 sandwiches, not to mention the kick'n
seeded rye bread we use on our #16
Reuben!
City Feed also carries many of their scones, quick breads & cookies
in our café.
A little slice of Rozzi right here in J.P.!
Goddess bless
them!
