Who We Are

We believe that God wants to be glorified by a growing, cohesive group of business and professional people being equipped as effective ambassadors for Christ in the marketplace.

The mission of BLE is to teach and provide training to Christian business professionals in how to discover and apply Scriptural principles to their occupations and personal lives. Simultaneously, we encourage accountability as it applies to God's principles as servants in the marketplace.
Is the Lord In It?

fire"The LORD said, 'Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by.'" (1 Kings 19:11)

Elijah was in a crisis in his ministry. God had just corrected him about his perspective of his situation. If any man needed a touch from God, it was Elijah because he was in such distress he wanted to die.

The Lord intervened and told Elijah that He was coming to talk to him. However, God did not tell Elijah how He was going to reveal Himself. It was up to Elijah to tell whether God was in the situations about to take place.

"Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave." (1 Kings 19:11-13)

We often think God is in our grand projects only to discover that He is not. We may also assume because of the success or visibility of a situation that God is in it. He may, in fact, be in the project. However, God's ways are not always highly visible. Sometimes He chooses to come in the soft, gentle whisper. It is sometimes difficult to recognize it as the Lord because He shows Himself in such subtle ways.

We need to be able to discern when God is actually part of our situation. Only then can we avoid being deceived in thinking God is in it. God will reveal Himself when we are being led by the Spirit and not being pushed by the flesh. The more intimate our relationship with God the more sensitive we become to His leading.

Be in the Word and have the Word in you. Memorize and meditate.

The Courage to Serve and Love

A BLE Testimony featuring Jim Sublousky

 window
I first became involved with BLE about 18 months ago. I started attending a BLE small group soon after with Steve Stoner as our leader.

We meet at our office (Southwest Exteriors) Thursday mornings. Our company does exterior siding and window and door replacement. God has equipped me with the faith, courage and knowledge to share His Word with co-workers as well as clients and anyone I come across in my daily walk. Not only do I share the Word but I listen and look for opportunities to hear testimonies of His work and blessings of others. My group consists of two other co-workers and another former co-worker. All of us heard about BLE through our company. We did Book 1 Investing My Life and now are on Book 2 Marketplace Excellence. Our group has become prayer warriors and I believe each one of us has grown so much closer to God and we can share anything with each other.

Our biggest challenge has been the enemy trying to have us think that this world has more to offer than what God has intended for us. The praises of the group are that we now understand that we are here to serve and love others as Jesus loved us.

I can't imagine not meeting with my group.  It gives me the fuel (love, courage and knowledge) to overcome all the world can throw at me. BLE has made me realize that there is a battle for my heart. I have learned that my relationship with my wife, daughters, co-workers and all others can only be fulfilling if I first seek to love God first and follow His Word. I know that fellowship and ministry is not for Sunday only but for every day.

I am so blessed to work for a company that encourages us to serve, love and speak God's Word to all including our clients. I used to be scared to turn people off by speaking to clients and strangers about my faith. Now that I have the courage due to God's work through our group I look for opportunities to share my faith. My schedule is so full that if BLE did not meet at my office before work, I probably would not be able to meet at all. Without my group and their sharing of the challenges they have and how God has helped each one of us through our trials I would not be as strong in my faith as I am today.
It is so hard to describe how much these Godly training sessions have meant to me. I would like to express my love and respect for our group leader Steve whom God has blessed with such a beautiful heart. Through God through him I am truly blessed.
