Seeking Committee Members
When
Our first planning meeting is next Tuesday, Jan. 18, from 12-1pm, at our Main Office (2818 San Gabriel). Email Genessee Klemm for more information or feel free to "just stop by." The committee will meet the 3rd Tuesday of each month through October. This year's event is Wednesday, Oct. 5.
Volunteer Need
The Arc of the Capital Area is looking for individuals interested in the planning of our biggest fundraiser of the year, "Building Bridges" Art Celebration & Auction. Have a voice in the planning of the event, collection of silent auction and art donations, or simply help us promote our 12th annual gala. Individuals with experience in graphic design, event planning, the hotel industry, PR, marketing or who just want to get involved for a great cause would be an asset to our team. |

Respite Childcare
When: The 2nd Saturday of the month from 9:30am-2pm at the Easter Seals, Building 2 ( 1611 Headway Circle) Upcoming Dates: Feb. 5, March 12, April 9 NOTE: Respite will be held on the 1st Saturday in February (2/5)
Volunteer Need: Provide childcare while caregivers receive a much-needed break. First time volunteers need to arrive at 9am to attend the 1-hour training.

Bowling
When: The 2nd Wednesday of every month 2pm-6pm at Dart Bowl ( 5700 Grover Ave.) Upcoming dates: Feb. 9, March 9, April 13Volunteer Need: Come help out with this fun client social event! We are looking for two to three volunteers who could attend on a regular basis. Help clients bowl, navigate the payment/shoe check-out process and enjoy getting to know some great people.

Movie Night
When: The 4th Wednesday of every month 3:30pm-8pm at the Arc of the Arts Studio & Gallery ( 6717 Burnet Road) Upcoming dates: Jan. 26, Feb. 23, March 23, April 27 Volunteer Need: This is a great opportunity to get to know our very special clients. We are looking for two to three volunteers to help our case managers run movie night. Duties include serving pizza, playing board games and keeping clients company.

Arc of the Arts Program: Calling All Artists!
Volunteer Need: We are looking for creative individuals to work one on one with a student with a developmental disability to create beautiful artwork. Past artists have worked with paint, pottery, photography, crafts and fabric. Share your creative passion with a very special person! No experience required.

Arc of the Arts: Calling All Musicians!
Volunteer Need: Arc of the Arts is looking for individuals interested in music and movement to increase our client's knowledge and appreciation of music and movement. Could you teach us about an instrument, a style of dance, or your favorite musician? No experience required. |
Internships
When: Spring, Summer and/or Fall 2011
Internship opportunities: The Arc offers a variety of internships in case management, juvenile justice services, events, public relations and marketing. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience working in your intended field!
