The Arc of Texas hosts a Household Recycling Program. You can donate gently used household items you no longer want or need.
Since 1972, they have partnered with Thrift Town (5700 Manchaca Road). The Arc of the Capital Area receives a portion of these proceeds.

The Golf Channel Comes to Austin
The Arc Was Featured in October In case you missed the Chevron Power of Human Energy segment feature last month, here is the segment that featured The Arc as well as another local non-profit The First Tee of Greater Austin.Chevron and the Golf Channel have teamed up to look outside the ropes of golf to bring to light compelling life stories that have enriched the lives of many. Continue to watch each week as new stories of human energy are told throughout the Chevron World Challenge.

NetSpend Pays It Forward
Pre-Paid Debit Card Company Benefits NetSpend is not forgetting to spread the wealth in their communities. As part of their annual meeting, NetSpend surprised their employees with a "Pay It Forward Day" of service. The company was split into groups of 10. Their task: to bring as much money and resources as possible to the non-profit they were assigned within a 4-hour time period. NetSpend employees raised almost $16,000 for The Arc and committed to a year of volunteering. They were able to secure $8,900 in cash pledges, $5,341 in in-kind supplies, and to top it off they commissioned a piece of artwork to commemorate their very successful day of giving. Mix-Up the Holidays with the Pop Art Show sponsored by Bacardi Dec. 1, 6pm-8pm Arc of the Arts Studio & Gallery (6717 Burnet Road)
Mix, mingle and add some holiday jingle to your holiday season at the annual Arc Holiday Party where guests will be taught by a trained mixologist to make either a Bacardi Mojito & Bacardi handshaken Daiquiri or a Sapphire Collins & Martini. Guests will also be able to purchase holiday gifts and get information on original designed, personalized greeting cards. The event is free, but we would love for guests to bring their favorite holiday treat.
Enjoy free brewery tours and beer tasting at Austin's best-- Indepenedence Brewery! Independence Brewery and The Arc have teamed up to make the holidays brighter for our neighbors who have developmental disabilities and their families. The event will feature great beer, handcrafted ornaments and other gifts perfect for the beer lovers on your holiday list.
