Since 1972, they have partnered with Thrift Town (5700 Manchaca Road). The Arc of the Capital Area receives a portion of these proceeds.

The Arc & ADL Unite to Re-Define the "R-Word"
Austin: Destination Dignity; Changing the "R" Word to Respect The Arc of the Capital Area and Austin's Anti-Defamation League (ADL) have partnered to ensure fair treatment of people with disabilities by redefining the "R" word from "retarded" to "respect."
The two organizations will unite to rally respect for people with disabilities Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Austin City Hall. The event, emceed by Texas Senator Kirk Watson, will be a stepping stone to proclaim Austin a community where people with disabilities are treated with dignity and where the "R" word is redefined as respect.

To Events Benefit The Arc TOMORROW! Aug. 25: VodkaFest @ Cool River & Dinner at CPK
Tomorrow night, Wednesday, Aug. 25, local businesses, Cool River Cafe (4001 W. Parmer Lane) and both locations (Domain and Barton Creek Mall) for CPK, will benefit The Arc of the Capital Area.
You'll be able to taste more than 50 vodkas from around the world, including local favorites, at Cool River from 8-11pm. Tickets are $ 20 in advance and $25 at the door.
Visit California Pizza Kitchen for dinner before -- and be sure to bring the coupon left, and a portion of your dinner proceeds will be donated back to us. This is the last Wednesday to take advantage of this promotion, so don't miss it!

VodkaFest Wednesday, Aug.25, 8-11pm Cool River (4001 W. Parmer Lane) Cool River Café hosts VodkaFest, the ultimate in vodka samplings, benefiting The Arc of the Capital Area. Vodka connoisseurs will sample more than 50 vodkas from around the world, as well as some of Austin's own favorites.
The Ghost Town Hootenanny Saturday, Sept. 11. starts at 4:30pm J. Lorraine Ghost Town (Manor, Texas) Precision Camera will host The Ghost Town Hootenanny. Please check the event website for the most up to date line-up. Current roster includes: Dale Watson, Shotgun Party, Bloody Stiletto, Black Magic Kit, Perfect Pants, Brandon Wayne and Killing Industry. All proceeds will go directly to The Arc of the Capital Area.
