Grants Help Support The Arc's Services
Gifts Help The Arc Continue Caring for Central Texans

The Arc of the Capital Area received a number of generous grants during December. The Shield-Ayres Foundation approved $10,000 and The Rachael & Ben Vaughan Foundation approved $5,000 in support of The Arc of the Capital Area Family & Caregiver Support Program to help ensure that families of children with developmental disabilities continue to have access to essential information and support they need to keep their children at home, in school and functioning within the community.

The Arc of the Capital Area received a $1,500 CVS Caremark Community Grant for the Respite Program. "This gift enables The Arc to continue to provide essential relief to parents with children with disabilities," says Susan Eason, Executive Director. Grants were awarded to organizations that share a common vision with the CVS Caremark's All Kids Can™ program, which strives to make life easier for children with disabilities.

We are also very thankful to receive $17,500 from The Topfer Foundation and $10,000 from the Wells Fargo for the Arc of the Arts Studio & Gallery. The Arc of the Arts Studio & Gallery provides an artist studio, for teaching art to individuals with developmental disabilities, and an art gallery, where the artists not only sell their art, but also receive job skills training.
