Abi Ferrin Fall 09 For most designers, charitable giving is an afterthought, but for self-taught  designer Abi Ferrin it's priority number one. Inspired by her work with the Costa Rica-based Rainforest Recovery Initiative, Ferrin's most recent ready-to-wear and swimwear collection, which she showed in New York last week, featured hand-painted tropical prints and waterfall-like structural effects.
