Our Meal Labels Get a New Look New Easy Instructions for 'At Camp' and 'At Home'
Every once in a while, we try to step back and take a fresh look at our labels to make sure they're delivering all of the info our wonderful customers need. Usually the updates are minimal, but this time we've changed things up a little more than usual by placing the emphasis on Cook-In-Bag prep in our meal instructions. Alternate instructions that focus on traditional Cook-In-Pot prep at camp or at home are also included.
Why? Well, it turns out that a large number of our customers are going the cook-in-bag route, for a number of reasons: fuel conservation, just-add-water ease, minimizing the need for camp pots and pans and easy clean up... just to name a few.
But that's not to say that Cook-In-Bag prep is for everyone or for every meal. Cook-In-Pot prep at camp or at home may require a little more effort and clean-up than its Cook-In-Bag counterparts but this more traditional method will deliver a more robust flavor that, according to backcountry chefs, translates quite well to the 'at home' dinner table.
We've had reports of people using Packit Gourmet at home for a quick lunch or dinner, in emergency situations when the power has been cut off, when stuck working late at the office and keeping on hand as an easy meal that the kids can prepare. Who knew?
