On August 11th, I reported to jail as part of the "Stars behind Bars" MDA fundraiser. I, like dozens of my colleagues (except Mark Galati), am innocent. I stated my case and went directly to jail. Thank you to all donating my "bail" raising over $850 and sending a couple of Jerry's Kids to summer camp for a week. THANK YOU!

6.5 Leadership Traits From the School of Hard Knocks

1. Working in your car. Windshield time can be productive. Plan out your call list and follow up with those clients and prospects. When finished with your calls, listen to a sales book or the lesson from your training program.

2. Dieting. Meetings and networking events have delicious temptations including donuts, pastries, and candy. Just say no. Pack a few granola bars in your briefcase and skip the junk food.

3. Sense of humor. Telling a good clean joke and watching a roomful of people laugh out loud is very cool.

4. Be ambitious & disciplined. Be the best. Focus on what you do best and continue getting better every single day. Your customers want to buy from the best.

5. Learn to speak in public. Some people prefer root canals to speaking in front of a group. Practice. Practice. Practice. Hire a speech coach. Felicia Slattery can help you master this skill.

6. Time Management. We all waste over an hour a day. That doesn't count clicking my facebook link or reading the 116 newsletters already received in August. No time to take a time management program? Be disciplined and sign up now.

6.5. Positive outlook. Walk with a spring in your step and a smile on your face. Track your accomplishments every day. Avoid negative people and always look on the bright side of life.
