Presidential Primary

 

The Presidential Primary will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2012.  Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

 

Need to see if you're registered to vote, where to vote or a sample ballot?  Follow this link to the MIchigan Voter Information Center to get all the information you need.

 

If you need an absentee ballot, please contact the City Clerk's office to request an application.  AV ballots will be available until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 25, and in the Clerk's office on Monday, February 27 until 4:00 p.m.  Call 463-8336 for more information.

Michigan Works!...can help

 

Do you know a youth (up to 21) who is unemployed or underemployed, a recent grad or dropout? Central Area Michigan Works! Youth Service Centers offer these services to help youth in finding the right job. All of this assistance is completely free! Fast-Trac New Venture

 

Do you have a great idea for a business but you're not sure how to implement or where to start moving your idea forward? The Gratiot MSU-Extension is providing an in-depth program to assist aspiring entrepreneurs with a plan and framework to be successful.

 

The FastTrac program begins Tuesday, February 7, 2012. The class meets each Tuesday evening at the RESD Building 1131 Center Street, Ithaca from 6:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. for 10 weeks. The cost of the program is $140 and includes the instruction, materials and meals.

Larry Mott

Alma Order of

the Tartan Award Winner

 

The City of Alma congratulates Larry Mott on being named the Alma Order of the Tartan Award winner at the Gratiot Area Chamber of Commerce dinner. Larry has been an integral part of the community for many years, serving on the Alma City Commission, the Lions Club and Knights of Columbus. Larry also served as the past president of the local Salvation Army and has been honored as the Big Brother of the Year. Thank you Larry for your long standing dedication and commitment to the Alma community!

Alma Police Athletic League (PAL) Youth Indoor Soccer Registration & Clinic

 

Do your kids have the winter blahs?

Do they have some excess energy to burn?  The Alma Police Athletic League Indoor Soccer season will begin with clinics for all age groups on Saturday February 18th at the Don Pavlik Middle School.   PAL members still need to register for this event.  Just make sure to click the box indicating your participant is a PAL member.  Indoor soccer is included in your PAL membership.  The cost is $35 for Non-PAL members.

Games will be played on Saturdays starting February 25th.  All teams will practice one hour prior to their game times.  Game schedules will be released after the clinics on the 18th

 

Clinic Schedule for Saturday February 18th:

 

5 & 6 Year Olds: 9:15 - 10:00, 

7 & 8 Year Olds: 10:30 - 11:15

9 & 10 Year OIds: 11:45 - 12:30

11-14 Year Olds: 12:30 - 1:15

 

Registration begins 30 minutes prior to the clinic time.

Taxes Due February 14th


Property owners are reminded that property taxes are due by 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 14, 2012. Taxes paid after February 14th will be subject to a 4% penalty.
