Marketing Committee Update for May Member Newsletter:
Is your event missing out on amazing promotional opportunities provided by the Merchant Association marketing campaign?
Direct MDVMBA member benefit-Orlando Sentinel monthly SPADEA wrap- Take advantage of the opportunity to have your business & specials or events listed in the Sentinel Spadea wrap going out monthly!
Window Display:
Julie at Julianne's Coastal Cottage is having
difficulty getting ideas to put our MDVMBA window display together. Main
Street Leasing was generous to give us the use of a vacant space with
street visibility and we need volunteers to help put it together. We
would like to display MDVMBA accomplishments and use collateral to
inform the public of what MDVMBA is doing. We may also use the space to
highlight MDVMBA businesses. Please go over to Juliannes and let her
know you would like to help.
Orlando Sentinel monthly wrap-
The monthly wrap is getting great feedback. The May wrap came out the Sunday before
Mothers Day. It supported our sponsorship of the Blues and Wine Festival
and PAWS for Mount Dora. The inside is dedicated to MDVMBA members and
we were all able to submit copy for promotion or specials at no cost .
Members not submitting copy still got their business listed on the
MDVMBA member map.
It
is being discussed that for months where there are few events to
support, Space will either be given or subsidized at a low rate to
MDVMBA members.

PAWS for Mount Dora:
The May 21-23 event is being sponsored at
the "Platinum sponsorship"

Show" level. Events put "Feet on the street" and benefit multiple
businesses by drawing visitors. MDVMBA is supporting the events via internet promotion, Daily
Commercial and Orlando Sentinel ads and providing radio spots on WDBO,
WMMO and K92FM.

A BIG thanks to our host for the first member mixer event for 2010, Premier Boat Tours. Around 40 members and guests boarded two of the tour boats for a sunset wine & hors d' oeuvres cruise of Lake Beauclaire & Lake Carlton.
The event was so well received that there are plans to organize another in the near future. Other member mixer events in other locations will be announced soon so stay tuned.

1st Call for Florida Highwaymen Art host locations for the summer ArtWalk event.
Art Work by James Gibson |
It is time once again to start planning the summer Florida Highwaymen Art Walk and Art Festival in conjunction with Heron Cay Lakeview B&B. The Art Walk event will comprise the first two weeks of August culminating in the three day Art Festival on August 13, 14 & 15. This event was very popular last year with Merchants and visitors and will be again this year with the additional promotion the event will receive through our ongoing marketing campaign. This is the first call for Merchant Association locations interested in hosting artwork for the two week Art Walk Event. Locations selected to host artwork will be asked to donate an item or gift certificate for the silent auction or raffle. In addition to hosting artwork, select locations will also host an actual Highwayman Artist that will perform a live art demonstration in the location. Details TBD. Please indicate your desire to participate by emailing VillageMerchants@gmail.com. Thank you |
