Calling All Pensioners... again.
In the previous issue of Insight Lite we informed you of a one-time opportunity to minimize your 2008 tax bill by contributing back into your RRIF up to 25% of your 2008 withdrawal.
We previously conveyed that the deadline for this was March 1st. It has since been extended to April 14th.
For those who have already filed their 2008 tax returns, they could make this re-contribution by the deadline and amend the filing. Please contact us accordingly.
For those whose tax returns are currently with us, we will be contacting you as appropriate.
For those who have not brought their returns in yet, they will need to address this opportunity on their own by the revised deadline.
In our experience so far, this opportunity has been very valuable to some people and not worthwhile for others.
