How did your parts get lost?
Aluminum Tube Showing Bi Metal CorrosionWe hear stories from new customers about how other companies lose your parts; how it is inherit to the processes they perform.  We assume that you find that a little bit hard to swallow.  It is not something that companies should be ok with.

When your parts arrive at RIE they are checked in and quantified.  In most cases they are weighed, in some cases a piece count is made.  This information is checked at the end of processing to ensure they are all being returned to you.  If we notice a discrepancy, we will find out what went wrong and locate the shortage.  We know that parts do not vanish into thin air and we will not use that excuse to explain the shortage.  These parts are very valuable to you and your customers and they are equally as valuable to RIE.

This extra step is just another way for RIE to prove to you that we are your partner from start to finish.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

We are on schedule for certification as an ISO 9000-2001 company by the end of the month
.

Spotlight Customer of the Month  Custom Branded Coatings

Each month we will spotlight one of our customers and their success story.  We will change the names of the persons and companies involved to protect confidentiality agreements and relationships.  We want you to submit your story to us.  If we choose to use it, we will send you a special gift from RIE.  If we are inundated with submissions we will include two per month.

Last year Joseph from XYZ Manufacturing called us looking to develop a coating that he could call his own.  He had acquired a large market share in the distribution of decking screws and wanted to brand a company exclusive coating to protect the screws against the treated lumber.  He knew that if he could spec in a coating with a name no one else could supply, he could retain his customers longer.

"RIE was very helpful in providing me the know-how to brand my own coating line.  This process has given me the ability to secure my customer base for years to come and has made my company a recognized industry leader.  They protect my trade name and do not share the information with others who may ask about it.  This strong bond of confidentiality is one of the main reasons that RIE Coatings is a major part of my everyday business."

Customer specific branded coatings are a great way to build your sales and set you apart from your competition.  RIE will provide you with documented test results that you can use to prove out your branded coating.  In the end, RIE has a goal to help our customers succeed.  You are the reason we exist and we strive to make that known each and every day.
Add Lubricity to your Parts

High performance coatings can be applied to parts of Coated Bolts 001many shapes and sizes.  In some cases lubricity is more important than corrosion protection.  In instances where screws are installed using automated assembly lines, consistence lubricity is very important.  The ability to consistently install each screw with the same torque and tension values ensures joint integrity.  Even the slightest variance can cause issues with installation and may cause the assembly machine to jam causing a line to go down.

This example of adding lubricity may seem illogical for the manufacturing companies you serve.  But if you have customers using stainless steel fasteners you can enhance their product.  Adding lubricity to stainless steel fasteners in one of the most common applications of this type.  The prevention of galling, or the welding together of parts due to friction, in stainless steel is very important.  It is even more important when you are talking about preserving a joint that will need to be serviced in the future.  The ability to prevent galling and have a serviceable joint using stainless steel is only one of the many great performance attributes that coatings can offer your customers.
Thank you for taking the time to explore the new RIE Newsletter format.  We hope that the information provided is useful to your everyday business as well as informative on coatings.  Please feel free to send in your stories for the spotlight of the month as well as any content suggestions.

Sincerely,
