Fund Drive Counting on Individual Giving to Close $50K Budget Gap
The Festival's Board of Directors is working hard to close a $50,000 budget gap that resulted this year as the economic downturn caused a significant loss in corporate and government support. Although major funders including Rabobank, First Bank of San Luis Obispo, and financial advisors R.E. Wacker Associates continued their support, government funding sources for the Festival fell by over 50 percent this year, as both the City and County of San Luis Obispo struggle with their own budget challenges. Board president Dwyne Willis says, "It's now up to all the individuals who love this Festival to help us close this gap. Every dollar counts." |
