MYTH: It's OK to miss weeks every now and then, it doesn't matter.
FACT: Oh yes it does matter! LighterLife is a lifestyle change Programme, not just a diet. By committing to the Programme and agreeing to purchase foodpacks and a weekly fee every week you are committing to taking it seriously and making a permanent change to your weight, health and life in general.
Psychologically, by committing to the rules you are committing to making a change to your relationship with food long term.
Dropping in and out of the Programmes without commiting to them generally means you are thinking of LighterLife as just another diet - and it's anything but!

Don't Forget the Refer A Friend Scheme - Earn yourself a £25 Voucher
CLOSING 30TH SEPTEMBER
From now until 30th September 2012, if someone joins LighterLife that you have recommended, make sure they give me your name and I will register you as the person who has recommended them. You will get your voucher once your friend has:
1. Attended a free initial consultation,
2. Been accepted as a client,
3. Joined and attended four group sessions by 30th September 2012.
There is no limit on the number of friends a LighterLife client can introduce during the promotional period, but, they must be new clients and not returners.
An email or letter will be sent from LighterLife's Central Office to you when your friend has completed four weeks and you can then claim your voucher either online or by phone and it will be sent to you by post.
At present, the voucher choices will be for: Toni & Guy, M&S, Amazon, Boots, and Ticketmaster.
Gift vouchers are non-transferable and no cash alternative will be offered. Plus they must be redeemed before 30th September 2012

Hi everyone,
There is some very exciting news this month for Life Members (those who have completed one of the full Programmes), infact so exciting they are going to be getting their own newsletter after this one to explain what is happening. In short, I am taking part in a Trial of a new support scheme for Life Members to help them keep the weight they have lost off! I've penned a short synopsis below, but, if you are a Life member watch out for your own newsletter titled "Exciting New Food and Exercise PlansTrial" for more details.
Also, the Refer a Friend scheme is closing on 30th September, so, if you have recommended LighterLife to anyone and they are going to join, remind them to mention your name when they come to the Initial Consultation. If they join before the 30th Sept and stay for a minimum of four weeks, you earn yourself a £25 High Street voucher.
If inspiration is needed, look below at how Liz feels 30 years younger now she is six stones lighter!
I get a lot of new clients this time of year who have been looking at the photographs taken of them on holiday (or worse, tagged on Facebook) and don't like what they see. Liz joined the Total Programme in Loughborough in November 2011 with a morbidly obese BMI of 42.6. By August 2012 she had shed a fantastic 6 stones of unwanted and unhealthy weight. Liz has now completed the entire Total Programme and is a Life Member.
This is her story in her own words:
"I decided to lose weight nearly forty years ago, when I realised at twenty years old being a farmers daughter and having overweight Aunts was not a excuse for being fat! As my children grew up the years flew by, suddenly I was forty and still fat. I joined every club and did every diet, my weight went down and still I was fat. I felt I had no one to really talk to about my weight problem. Suddenly I had grand-children and I couldn't keep up with them. My uniform was tight yet again and I was 59 years old. I really needed help .
Then I saw Pauline Quirke on the T.V. She looked so well and very slim, and after hearing her talk about Lighterlife I felt hope for the first time for years. I felt having a Counsellor every week must mean they care about how you are feeling, your fears about food and being fat not just after my money!
I was so frightened when I phoned Debbie and then met her at Loughborough for the first time last November. She gave me so much hope right from the start. Week by week at the small group meetings as my weight came off my whole life changed . I loved people saying how younger and well I looked. I began to look forward to my monthly B.P. checks, as my B.P. came down my G.P. reduced my tablets. Suddenly I loved walking and going out on my bike , which I loved years ago. I can run now with our grand-children without my knees acheing and being out of breath.
I will be sixty next week and thanks to Debbie and Lighterlife a slim happy healthier sixty year old who feels thirty"

New Food and Exercise Plans Trial for Life Members
Losing weight is the easy bit! Keeping it off for life requires you to make changes to your relationship with food and that requires a new education.
During Phase One management (the stages directly after the weight loss part of the Programme that take you back to food) you receive a wealth of information on nutrition, healthy cooking techniques, how to guage the right portion sizes as well as more understanding about your relationship with food.
However, LighterLife realise that even with all that knowledge, clients would like some more support when back in the world of food (Phase Two management) and so they have designed 10 new meal plans and a seven day exercise plan to fit most lifestyles and they are going to be trialled between 17th September to 7th December with Life Members at Loughborough.
If you are a Life Member and want to find out more, I'm holding a presentation at Mountfields House on Friday 14th September at 6.30pm to go through the details and answer any questions. Space is limited, so, if you are interested please drop me a line a book a place in the presentation. Coming along to this does not obligate you to take part in the trial, but I think you'll want to!
