Speak with Press

  • Do you have a pre-existing condition that prevents you from buying health insurance now, but no longer would be a problem in 2014 under health reform?
  • Is insurance too expensive because of your pre-existing condition?
  • Would you be helped by subsidies that would go into effect in 2014 under health reform?
  • Are you under age 26 so you've been able to get on your parents' insurance due to the    health reform law, or have you been able to get your child on your insurance due to health reform?
  • Do you have a child under age 19 who's been able to get insurance despite a pre-existing condition?
  • Are you enrolled in the Pre-existing Condition Insurance Plan (PCIP), created by health reform?
  • Are you a senior who's drug costs have gone down due to health reform?
  • Have you gotten free preventive care due to health reform?

In short, have you been helped, or would you be helped, by health reform?

We're getting calls from reporters getting ready for the Supreme Court decision, which now is certain to be handed down on Thursday.  They want to talk to "real people," and if there's one thing I know about our clients and friends, it's that you're "real."  We're getting calls from both Connecticut press and national press.  So far, it's all print media, although they might want to take your photo.  It's possible that we'll also get calls from TV stations.

If you are willing to speak with press, please email me or give me a call at (860) 674-1370.  Please tell me just a little about how health reform has affected, or would affect, you so I can make sure to give your info only to reporters who are looking for your kind of story.

Remember -- it's only by telling our stories that we make change happen.  You are doing us all a service when you talk to reporters about health reform.  Thanks.  Jennifer

P.S. -- Look for next week's July newsletter for analysis of the Supreme Court's decision.  If you can't wait until then, check out our blog
