Love is in the Air!

Love is in the air this month at Traditions at the Glen.  Valentine's Day is only one day but we like to celebrate with romance the whole month of February.

With our everyday lives being so stressful, we should make time to show those we love how special they are.  Take time to give a smile, share a meal, or a laugh, take a walk or whatever may make them feel special.

philOn February 2, 2011, Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow so we hope he is correct and we have an early spring.  We have had a couple of days with the temperatures in the fifties and hope that they continue.  But whatever the weather, always enjoy the ones you love.

Join us at Traditions and let our love become yours.

Love to all,

Candace Jones, CHA

What a great Valentine's Day weekend! Our guests had a few different choices for a relaxing couples experience at the Spa. Our Couples Suite, a private massage room for two featuring chocolate covered strawberries and champagne, was a hit this holiday! Couples also thoroughly enjoyed the benefits of a side by side massage in our Couples Room. We would like to thank our guests for choosing The Spa at Traditions to celebrate their love.

We often get asked, "Are your massage therapists licensed?" Our short answer: YES! Our therapists must be licensed by New York State and must pass a vigorous interview process at the Spa. Our lead therapist, Mari, provided some insight:

"All of our therapists here at The Spa at Traditions have gone through a rigorous and intensive 1000 hour program at either The Finger Lakes School of Massage in Ithaca, NY or The Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage in Syracuse, NY. Their training program has included courses in anatomy, physiology, neurology, myology (study of muscles and their function), pathology, hygiene, first aid, CPR, and infection control procedures as well as course work, training and practice in the theory and techniques of western massage (i.e. Shiatsu). In addition, New York requires that massage therapists pass a State licensing examination.

Massage is a healing art as well as a science. It requires a balance of academic and technical knowledge, clinical skills, manual dexterity, sensitivity, and awareness. Nearly everyone has the innate resources to touch another with care and confidence. However, it takes a sincere desire to help others, along with a commitment to the time, energy, and focus necessary for the training process in order to become a solid practitioner.

We take pride in having an exceptional team here at The Spa at Traditions. This is largely due to the thorough hiring process used to select highly-skilled massage therapists who are truly dedicated to the art and science of bodywork. The more passionate a practitioner is, the better work they do!"

Rest assured that you are in "good hands!"

We are looking forward to spring time - which includes vacation time, sandal season, new styles, and more! We offer custom airbrush tanning by Brazil Bronze, Spa Pedicures and Manicures, and use styling products by Aveda and Bumble and Bumble for our hair services. Bring a friend (or two!) and enjoy a truly luxurious spa experience.

Getting married? Know someone recently engaged? Our Spa services bridal consultant is able to plan the perfect wedding experience for you and your party. From relaxing Spa Day bachelorette parties to expertly styled hair and make-up on your special day, our Spa can accommodate your needs. Call today to schedule a complimentary meeting with Honesty for Spa bridal service bookings. We are now taking appointments for both 2011 and 2012.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT....

The Spa at Traditions strives to offer you the latest in wellness treatments for mind and body.

We're excited to tell you that The Spa is bringing a new form of wellness to our region in the coming months.

Plans are underway to bring you this truly unique therapy which benefits the skin, breathing and offers total body rejuvenation.  This therapy originates from Eastern Europe, and has served as a natural alternative to medicine for well over a century. In the short time it's been available in the United States, this therapy has delivered remarkable results to people suffering from various illnesses. Currently there are only six locations offering this therapy in the country, and we are fortunate and excited to become the seventh.

Please stay tuned to future Newsletters to learn more about this therapy and the benefits it provides.

Our #1 Preferred Guest for January was Dr. Tariq Gill.  He spent the most room nights in the hotel for January.  Thank you Dr. Gill.

In appreciation of all our Preferred Members, we are offering double points for all their stays in the month of March.  If you are not a Preferred Member this is the time to sign up.  One of our Guest Service Associates will be glad to help you.

We have started something new at the hotel.  "We were expecting you."  We found that just checking into a dark room was not very inviting, so we started, the "we were expecting you", program.  Do not be surprised when you enter your guest room and a light is on, and light music is playing.  We hope you feel more at home.  Give us your feedback!

Check out our special room rate called "March Madness" during the month of March.  We are offering a special $99.00 rate for a standard room.  Our Guest Service Associates would be happy to help you make that reservation.  Call us at 607.797.2381 or book on line at: http://traditionsresort.com/reserve.html
