March 2010 |

Napoleon Hill stated that, "Whatever the mind of man can
conceive and believe it can achieve." I
challenge each of us to "expect great things" for ourselves and our PCAM
community, and to clearly identify which of our gifts we will contribute to
make what's possible, possible!
Ben Dooley, the President of the ICF Chapter in Chicago
challenged us during his presentation at the Power Session in January to think
outside of the box and resist the temptation to limit what's possible for us in
our work with our clients. I challenge
us to think outside of the box as we imagine what's possible for PCAM IN 2010!!! I chose to believe that what was possible in
January is still possible in March!
As mentioned in last month's newsletter, the PCAM Board
was scheduled to meet on February 18.
Due to an unforeseen emergency our meeting was rescheduled to March
24. As a result our goals for 2010 are
still underdevelopment. The goals will
now be shared in the April Newsletter! In
the meantime, I am pleased to report that various members of PCAM are fully
engaged in furthering our current objectives, and members of the Board are in
conversation about what new opportunities we can take advantage of or create
for the benefit of our membership.
The date for our annual conference has been previously
announced. However, I want to remind us
of it again and encourage all of us to bring at least one additional person to
this year's conference. I have
established a goal for us to increase our participation at the conference by
50%. I realize, of course, that if we
all bring one additional person it will increase attendance by 100%. For the record, I am ok with that! It's a great problem to have...
The
2010 Annual PCAM Conference is scheduled for November 12 &
13. The theme is "Coaching at the Crossroads - an exploration of the
coaching journey and the choices we face along the way." The conference
will be held at the newly renovated Radisson Hotel in downtown Lansing, just a
few short blocks from the State Capitol Building. Dan Leask and fellow committee members Barb
Grigsby, Paula Kirsch and Kristi Pavlik are hard at work creating and planning
two full days of experiences and learning for our PCAM Community. Please mark
your calendars accordingly!
It is an exciting time to be a coach! The coaching profession continues to grow and
increase its impact worldwide. Several
members of PCAM have recently been approached for their services as a result of
their PCAM membership. We celebrate
these and other opportunities that we will create, or that will be made
available to us as we work to increase our visibility and our impact in our
community.
Best regards,
Milt

Question of the Month
When
we decide not to make a decision that is a decision. When we fail to
decide for the best we are ultimately deciding to settle for something less.
Are there areas of your life about which you have yet to make a decision?
