Government Update

Joe McMenamin, Alderman Ward 7

The MacArthur TIF is proceeding quickly, with a Public Hearing scheduled for Monday, Jan 23, and the City Council scheduled to consider it Tuesday, Feb. 21. The PGAV report can be found at http://www.springfield.il.us/oped/MacArthur%20TIF.pdf.

MacArthur Park Apartments will be denied new Section 8 vouchers by the Springfield Housing Authority based on a history of local code violations. Four sections of the more than 40 units placarded have been rehabbed.

Joe mentioned City Finances and the upcoming Budget Process, indicating concern over unfunded pension liabilities.
