Speakers: Lakota Group Representatives
John Lamotte, Nick Kalogeresis, Zack McConnell MacArthur Boulevard Redevelopment Plan
Lakota Group presented a brief summary of the presentation of the draft plan for revitalization of the Boulevard. The final plan will include a streetscape plan, strategies, funding options, a timeline, statistics, and organizational development recommendations.
The consultants said the plan is feasible given the MacArthur Boulevard environment. Market analysis indicates sufficient economic support for the business and residential development recommended in the plan. It will be important for the Association, business and property owners, the City of Springfield and other local government jurisdictions, IDOT, and the Regional Planning Commission to work together for the design, fundraising, policy and implementation phases of the plan.

City of Springfield - Alderman Debbie Cimarossa
Alderman Cimarossa spoke on the flooding around Washington Park. A preliminary meeting with residents around the park is planned for tonight, with a city-wide meeting planned for 2-3 weeks. We will send an eNewsletter with date, time and location of the full meeting. |

A Neighborhood Clean-Up day is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 9 from 9-11 with free hotdogs and soda from 11 to 1pm at the Standard Mutual parking lot, 1028 South Grand Ave West. More details to come.
