Saint Mary's University Students teach peace in Northern Ireland

In February, 16 students from Saint Mary's University in Halifax, a PSI member, travelled to Northern Ireland to engage students and teachers in addressing issues surrounding peace
SMU conflict resolution studentsand the importance of conflict resolution. This marks the fifth year that students from Saint Mary's visited Catholic, Protestant and Integrated schools throughout Belfast to offer conflict resolution workshops. The trips are organized by Saint Mary's University in collaboration with Peaceful Schools International, the Charitable Irish Society of Halifax, and Barnardo's Children's Charity.

If you are in the Halifax area, please join PSI for a panel discussion about peace education around the world. Three PSI volunteers will speak about peace education efforts in Sierra Leone, Northern Ireland, and Pakistan. The panel features PSI's Regional Coordinator visiting from Pakistan, Nadeem Ghazi. Come out to learn more about PSI's work in building a more peaceful world, one school at a time, and find out how you can get involved!

The Art of Peace Summer Camp

Art of Peace Summer Camp
This summer, PSI is excited to again be hosting the Art of Peace Summer Camp for 8 - 13 year-olds at Saint Mary's University in Halifax, NS. There will be two sessions of the camp this year, Week 1, July 26-30 and Week 2, August 16-20.

This camp offers children an opportunity to creatively explore the meaning of peace - within ourselves, in our communities and in the world. The camp will be facilitated by experienced staff, and local artists and peace activists will visit and make presentations throughout each week.
