Subic Bay Children's Home Receives 100% of Your Donation
"A Paradise for the Kids"
Every week in our updates we will give you a little history of one of the children at the home.  This weeks child is Vince Kenneth Felix.

 Vince Felix

Vince Kenneth was born on February 7, 2003 at Jose Payumo Jr. Memorial Hospital in Dinalupihan, Bataan. He is the youngest child among the three children of his mother Leah from her first husband.

Vince's mother was married to his father but because of differences with her mother-in-law she decided to leave her husband. Vince's two sisters were left with their father and only Vince stayed with his mother because she knew that she could not provide the needs of her two daughters and send them to school.  It was difficult for the family to adjust.   Vince's mother felt guilty because she could not provide the needs of Vince and give him good food to eat.

A year later Vince's mother met a man who became her live in partner and he had three children named Mark Jerome, Lloyd Anthony and Christian.  Vince's mother became the bread winner because her new partner had no work.  Soon her new partner left his children with Leah never to return and she became a single parent.

Vince's mother became a sales lady in small store which was located in New Cabalan. She earned just 75 pesos ($1.50) a day which was not enough to buy food for her children.  She also was seven months pregnant at that time so she was not able to work and earn enough money.

Leah was looking for someone to help her when she met Ms. Nenita Sulayao.  Nenita told her about an orphanage that could help her. The next day she decided to go to Subic Bay Children's Home and ask for help.

On June 22, 2009 Vince Kenneth Felix was admitted to Subic Bay Children's Home. He was a very thin and malnourished young boy. Now Vince is an active young boy and is studying at Subic Bay Christian Academy as a pre-school student. He is also memorizing verses and learning more about God.  Our prayer is that the Lord will guide and use Vince in the ministry someday.

2010 VBS OFFERINGS

Remember Subic Bay Children's Home during this year's VBS season.  Some churches send offerings collected at VBS to be used in one of our projects.   As you may remember last year Sardis Lake Baptist Church collected over $1,600 and the pastor had to kiss a pig because the boys lost the offering contest.
Coming in April!

Travelling From the South Asia Region

For those travelling from south Asia region there are connecting budget flights out of Singapore by Cebu Pacific or Tiger Air.  Airasia airlines flies out of Kuala Lumpur at a very cheap rate if booked six months in advance. These will bring you directly into Clarke airport near Angeles City hence escaping the Manila traffic. The flght from either Singapore or Kuala Lumpur to Clarke takes 3.5 hours.  It will be only an hour drive by a brand new freeway directly into Subic Bay. A leisurely stopover in Singapore or Kuala Lumpur is recommended for the adventurous.

New Project Added
Water Tanks

Reserve water tanks are a new project added to our list.  Water is rationed especially in the hot summer months leaving the bathrooms and kitchens unusable. Three water tanks will be added to keep water supply at all times.

               Leukemia or Dengue Fever
Daniel AndresPlease pray for one of the children in the home named Daniel Andres who may have either Dengue fever or Leukemia.  He is undergoing tests now to determine which.  Dengue fever can mimic leukemia.  Some people have died from Dengue fever while being treated for Leukemia because the symptoms are so similar.

Beach Party

One of the request from Liz Young who donated the $10,000 prize from "Biggest Loser" TV show was that the kids have a big party.  So the kids had a beach party with "Lechon" (A whole roasted pig) which is one of their favorite things to eat.
