 Many of us who love animals have a hard time watching movies (or specific scenes in movies) where animals appear to be harmed. Sometimes, these scenes look SO real; was an animal truly harmed in order to create a sensational scene in a movie?
You can now know for certain exactly what happened in the questionable or distressing scene, or if the animal truly was harmed in some way. Or, perhaps the animal "actor" does not experience any trauma but you'd like to know if the methods used to train him to carry out the actions in the scene were truly humane.
American Humane's Film and TV Unit oversees the safe use of animals in film. Their comprehensive database allows you to search new releases, or films that have been out for decades, to learn more about how the animal scenes were created.
