Chamber "Business of the Month"
 Masterson's Men's Clothing
The Wells County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors visited Dick Mayer at Masterson's Men's Clothing Shop in downtown Bluffton on Friday, June 17, 2011, to honor Dick and his staff as June Chamber Business of the Month. The staff was surprised with cookies and balloons and thanked for their long time service in Bluffton and being very long time Chamber of Commerce Members. Dick has owned Masterson's for 25 years. The building from which the store operates was built in 1883 and men's clothing has been sold from the building since that time. The men's clothing store was established in 1927, and it was first owned by the Aschbachers. The Weisels bought the store from the Aschbachers, and in 1958, the store became Masterson-Tyndall. Adrian Sprunger bought the store in 1976, and the name then became solely Masterson's. Dick worked in the store for nearly ten years before leaving Bluffton for eleven years to operate his own clothing store. Dick then returned and bought Masterson's in 1986. He noted that he enjoys serving the community by providing men's clothing as the owner of Masterson's, and he hopes the store will continue to benefit Wells County for years to come. |

6th Annual "Duck Race on the Wabash" tickets are now for sale!
Family Centered Services is now selling tickets for the 6th annual "Duck Race on the Wabash" to be held on Saturday, August 13th at Kehoe Park in Bluffton. The goal this year is to raise at least $25,000 to assist in sustaining ten youth and family serving programs in Wells and Huntington Counties. As a nonprofit social service agency, local fundraising is crucial to FCS's ability to provide life-saving and life-changing services to children and families.
The event will include free children's games, music and snacks from 1:00 - 1:45 p.m. with the ducks plunging into the Wabash at 2:00 p.m. The ducks will "swim" down the river, racing to the finish line where our valiant volunteers from the Wells County Fire Departments will be waiting to pluck them out of the water as they come through the chute. The first duck to cross the finish line wins the grand prize of $1,000. The remaining 25 prizes include great products and gift certificates donated by Wells, Huntington, and Adams County merchants.
Call 824-8574 in Bluffton or visit our website at www.familycenteredservices.org if you wish to buy tickets or get more information. FCS was incorporated in 1990 and currently offers ten youth and family serving programs delivering services to over 1,000 families and youth every year. Their mission is to provide compassionate, respectful, and innovative services that strengthen and support families and their communities.
