Greetings! If you missed Gil Garcetti's program at our September meeting, you truly missed out on a most inspirational evening. Gil's passion for photography and his commitment to give back reminded me of how fortunate I have been as I've built my photography business. At the core of my business values is a commitment to give back and my experience is that whatever I give, I receive tenfold in return. It's called "charitable marketing" and believe me - it really works! So, I have a question for you: What are you doing to build your business and pursue your passion for photography while giving back to the community? I encourage you to give yourself a long-term personal photography assignment - something that fills in the gaps when you're not doing real Client work and allows you to pursue your passion, sharpen your skills and enhance your creativity. Then, see where it takes you . . .
Regards, Jim Brammer PPLAC President

PPLAC held a very successful workshop on Lightroom, hosted and taught by the venerable Bob Young.
Bob taught us all how to import images in a highly efficient workflow. We learned how to add metatdata and copyright information; how to organize and catalog, and even how to do basic developing of our images. Marcia Gold assisted Bob, helping those who were new to the application, and Karen Nakamura brought homemade Chinese chicken salad and lemon bars, along with a buffet of fabulous foods for lunch. PPLAC is very lucky to have Bob Young, who is so generous in sharing his decades of experience and knowledge with our organization. To all those who were unable to make the workshop, try to do so next time-- this is the best deal in town. A week's worth of high-level photography instruction for a small PPLAC price! |
