| President's Message |
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and was able to spend it with loved ones. It is always good to take the time to reflect on all the things we have to be thankful for.
At our December meeting, we had Dr. Mary Leslie from the Project InVest/OPT and Antoinette Fallon from Rachel's Women's Center. Both guests gave us updates on their programs and I know I personally learned information I had not previously known about them.
On behalf on San Diego Insurance Women, Nancy Ladd presented both organizations with checks for $1,000 each.
I look forward to seeing you all one more time in 2010! But if I don't, I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
In fellowship,
Jennifer Hetzel

Happy Holidays Everyone!
As we enter this time of goodwill and cheer, let's think of people who are less fortunate than ourselves. Let's think about the people who could really use NAIW. Start thinking about a coworker, a friend, perhaps even someone recently employed in the insurance industry who needs the networking in order to maximize her new position. Bring a friend to a meeting. Get them involved in NAIW. Let's have every member bring a new member and double our membership in 2011! You'd be surprised how many people don't know about NAIW. And you'd be surprised how easy it is to get someone to say "yes." Sometimes all it takes is to ask the question. Have a happy and safe holiday season!

Our featured speakers at the November Dinner Meeting were Antoinette Fallon representing Rachel's Women Center and Dr. Mary Leslie from OPT/InVest. They gave us great insight into the programs which are dear to the hearts of the SDIW members. We presented each of them with a donation .Thanks to all of the members who help fund raise all year, bring donations, and help Serve lunch on Saturday's, Antoinette mentioned that Saturday is the only day of the week the worker's at Rachel's can count on support at lunch time. We should be proud that our efforts really make a difference.
The sock and underwear drive went well, thanks for your contributions.
Please see the Rachel's schedule attached let me know if you have any Saturday's open to help!!!.
I will continue to send individual remainder email's each Wednesday. Please let me know as soon as possible if you are not going to make the week you've committed to, also advise if you were able to find a replacement.
If you want additional information on the Rachel's please see the SDIW website or contact me.

We're really looking forward to some of our fundraisers! The Cosmic Bowling event is on 12/10/10. If you haven't sent in your RSVP yet, please do it soon! Space is limited!
We still have some slots available. We need payment in advance - we will not be collecting at the door. PayPal is the preferred method please. Once you reserve your space, I will send you a coupon for the shoe rental. If you have bowling shoes or equipment of your own, you are certainly welcome to bring them. Just don't use your coupon - the association gets credit for each coupon not utilized. You can send your reservation directly to me at dmcbride@bbandt.com or you can go to our web site and do it there.
The following link takes you directly to the page you need: www.sdinsurancewomen.com. It's going to be a great night with lots of surprises! Bring your family and friends. It's a great way to kick off the holiday season!
Please click here for the flyer.
We will also be having a "Wine and Nine" golf tournament on 4/1/11 so save the date!
Ruth has done a great job procuring dates to run a concession stand at Qualcomm. We will need several volunteers for this in order to make it a success. This could will take a time commitment, but sometimes it's easier for people to give time than money.
We also have a fabulous calendar that Jennifer and KK are working on. We can't wait to see the finished product!
Thank you in advance for your participation! We really appreciate everyone's involvement in our fundraising efforts.
