One marketing firm found that, in a survey of approximately 7,000 people in the UK, Germany, Australia, India, and Japan, more people could identify the golden arches of the McDonald's logo than they could identify the Christian cross.
This challenges me and I'm sure it does you.
I wrote recently of how I saw the CEO of Starbucks Coffee, Howard Schultz, trumpet Starbucks' 40th anniversary. They have approximately 16,000 stores in 54 nations. A 10 billion dollar a year enterprise.
A whole lotta coffee, Venti bold please. McDonald's has more than 30,000 stores in over 100 nations, every day collectively serving some 52 million people.
Hold the pickles.
At Foursquare Missions Press, we've got some numbers to boast (in the Lord!) about. Over 175,000 pieces of free Gospel literature sent to 111 nations, in 56 languages, in 30 years. Some 6,000 children's workers trained and resourced in 9 years through our Children's Gospel Box ministry.
All for a few billion dollars less than either McDonald's or Starbucks :). Yet even some in our own denomination don't know who we are or what we do :(.
So, we'll keep getting the Word out!
Do us a favor and pass this on. Take two minutes and watch this new video (also available on DVD). You'll be blessed.
