Welcome to your 2011 inspirational e-newsletter! I want to thank every committed reader and supporter. Allow me to encourage you to get a steady pace and do not look back. We are pressing full throttle ahead with no regrets. You made it ladies, you survived last year! If you need a reason to say thank you, let me give you one - YOU MADE IT, REJOICE! This is reason enough to stop living on pause with a sense of hesitancy. I asked the question last month, "Lord, what do you want your daughter's to do this year?" Like a bell ringing I heard, press play. While I am still pondering the depth of this, in my right now moment that means for me to stop moving through life like I have a permanent case of the hiccups - constantly pausing and second guessing myself. A good place to begin is to remember God's goodness by focusing on His unconditional love and endless promises.
HIS POSSIBILITIES ARE HIS PROMISES:
Last year I asked how many of us had already began our personal year-in-review. A few weeks ago my husband and I sat down to conduct our own year-in-review. We shared our highs and lows, the should haves and could haves, then quickly turned our conversation to the possibilities that lay ahead because of the hope we have in our Father. We concluded that God's possibilities are His promises.
The year 2010 for some may have been without full satisfaction. The stress of wondering if God is listening and if His promises remain can play some powerful mind games. I read something recently from a devotional that spoke deeply to me in light of my own heartaches and regrets of 2010. Psalm 77:7-9 speaks of a troubled believer who expresses an inner turmoil; as he sits reflecting, listen to how he expresses himself: "Will the Lord walk off and leave us for good? Will He never smile again? Is His love worn threadbare (thin)? Has His salvation of promise burned out? Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has He angrily stalked off and left us?" (The Message Bible)
How many times have we cried out with these same words? Whether for our children or perhaps that single sister who dreads being alone yet another year or for that ailing parent, no matter the reason we ache, the pain is very real. But oh how my heart leaped with joy as I continued to read from the passage. This same troubled believer begins to ponder his situation based on God's track record: "Once again I'll go over what God has done, lay out on the table the ancient wonders (miracles); I'll ponder all the things You've accomplished and give a long, loving look at Your acts. O God! Your way is holy! You're the God who makes things happen; You pulled Your people out of the worst kind of trouble . . . (Psalm 77:11-15)."
What a way to approach what is to come! This person recalls to mind, the love of God for Him, he remembers. Did you get that ladies? He literally goes back and RE-members and ponders things based upon God's promises. Know that whatever this year presents to you God has already made things happen to work in your favor. As we continue deeper into this New Year my hope is for you to grasp hold of His wonders, His miracle working power. His possibilities are His promises, He will never abandon you and He has not forgotten. His promises concerning Christ are yes and amen, (2 Corinthians 1:20).
We look forward to sharing more with you next month as we continue with the fruit of the Spirit. Remember, His love is committed to your well being, without conditions.
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control," (Galatians 5:22, NKJV).
