Welcome to the first issue of WINE for the year 2010. Happy New Year ladies! Bittersweet is what comes to mind when pondering the past year. The year 2009 brought a series of highs and lows. I believe Charles Dickens states this best when he opens in a Tale of Two Cities with, "It was the best of times it was the worst of times . . ." I wonder if Mr. Dickens had somehow connected to that familiar text in Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 that reminds us of the seasons of life; "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under Heaven . . ."

We have entered into a new season of life, a fresh start with refined perspective. We cannot go back and undo past misfortunes. Perhaps these experiences have made us stronger and built character. Release that junk and press forward. What you give your energy to, you empower the more. Instead, meet your Heavenly Father at the well and allow Him to restore your thirsty soul.

In this season, perseverance is critical. To ensure you maintain momentum fix your eyes on Him from start to finish. I am reminded of Jacob who wrestled with an angel until he received a blessing. He understood what it means to clinch down and hold on, to continue and never give up. I am smart enough to trust that you too have been endowed with this same determination. Your Heavenly Father has filtered this hope from His throne room to your prayer room; you only need tap in.

Ladies when you have made Him yours and you become His, He places His dream within you. I want to encourage you to be purposeful this year by committing to 'dream bigger, laugh more, forgive quicker and love harder.' Keep in mind our posted quote we ended the year with, "Everything you are against weakens you. Everything you are for empowers you," (Wayne Dyer). The question put to you once again, is what are you for this year? Persevere in the positive by connecting to your source of strength, the True Vine.
