blueberriesA Feast For the Eyes! Come check out the rainbow of freshly picked fruits and veggies making their way to Dedham Square tomorrow.   We've got the bluest blueberries you've ever seen! Look at the luscious green lettuce, cukes, broccoli and zucchini.  Ogle over
Orangey-red cherry tomatoes  and yearn for the  yummy yellow summer squash and wax beans!

New Offerings- additions to this week's market include new selections of cheese from Foxboro Cheese Co. - Havarti, gouda and cheddar from Smith's
Farmstead in Winchendon MA.   Lemon Thyme Farm will have soft drinks from Simpson Spring in South Easton MA.

HeiferCommunity TableHeifer International will join us this week with an educational board to teach children about world hunger and animals. Kids learn how to make an animal crown. Around the world, Heifer teaches sustainable agriculture to aid the impoverished.

Recipes
Use these recipes to help turn your farmers market treasures into savory dishes!  Enjoy!

zucchiniZucchini Dip
Finely shred enough zucchini to make 1/2 cup. Place in strainer and press out moisture. Blend with 1 cup plain low fat yogurt, and 1 minced clove of garlic, or 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder. Add a dash of curry powder or other seasoning and chill 1 hour. Stir before serving. Serve with crisp raw vegetables.

2/3 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
2/3 cup low-fat milk
2 Tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
2 cups blueberries, cleaned and washed
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, and baking powder. Stir in the milk and mix the batter until it is smooth. Pour the melted butter or margarine into 1 or 1 1/2 quart casserole dish. Pour in the batter, and sprinkle the blueberries on top. Bake the cobbler for 40-45 minutes or until it is lightly browned. Serves 8
