Halloween at Healthways Thank you to Healthways for hosting Clubs kids from the Ladmo, Gilbert and Father Kuban Branches on Halloween Eve.  Healthways employees and the kids dressed up in full costume and got to go trick or treating throughout the office.  There was no shortage of candy, popcorn, cotton candy and cookies! Thanks Healthways!

Compadre Branch - Chandler Grand Opening
Compadre Branch Exterior Join us the evening of  Monday, November 16th for the grand opening of the new Compadre Branch - Chandler.  Thanks to bonds approved by Chandler residents in 2007, more children and teens will be calling the Boys & Girls Club their second home. Plus consider our Bricks for Kids Campaign.

Not only is the Club the largest in the East Valley, it's a LEED silver-certified building which means it is green-friendly! It will house the largest Intel Computer Clubhouse in the world, two gymnasiums, stage, teen center, games room, an art room, plus, a community room.  To view invitation, click here.

Give Peace a Chance
Peace Pole Project Our K-8 charter school Mesa Arts Academy celebrated "Week without Violence" with a peace pole last month.  The pole was planted into the ground at MAA during an early morning ceremony with a special message "May peace prevail on earth" in English, Spanish, Hebrew and Chinese.  Students dressed up in their culture's native dress.

The event was organized by The Children's Benefit Foundation and sponsored by the Sunrise Rotary Club in Mesa.  Students also submitted artwork and poetry into a contest for the Week without Violence. For a list of winners click here.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley (www.clubzona.org) serves more than 30,000 children and teens annually, and continues to grow to meet the needs of today's youth, providing a positive place for all kids and teens. Serving members in Apache Junction, Chandler, Gilbert, Guadalupe, Mesa, Tempe, Queen Creek, and the Gila River Indian Community, programs are offered after school and during the summer and provide youth and teens, ages 6 - 18, with fun and educational activities, supervised by professional staff.  The organization also runs Mesa Arts Academy, a K-8 charter school.  The Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley's annual membership fee is only $20 dollars a year and financial assistance is available.  No child is ever turned away if they are unable to pay the fee.
