Director's Notes
Things are hopping on the Hill and sizzling in the Highfield Hall kitchen. Please check out our culinary offerings below including a class this Sunday from renowned pastry chef, Lisa Raffael.

I can't wait for you to see our new permanent exhibition, which we will unviel next month, or participate in our Glories of the Garden, summer-long celebration. Of course, Hounds at Highfield will be back in June for all of you dog lovers, and we will soon be announcing our summer programs for children. Could there be theater in Highfield Hall's future? We think so! There will definitely be tapas and wine tasting, along with many other new programs. Never a dull moment!

Please vote for Highfield Hall as one of the 1,000 great places in Massachusetts.  VOTE HERE -- it will only take a second.

We hope to see you soon on the hill.

Beyond Belief: Film Viewing at Highfield Hall hosted by Beth Murphy

beyond beliefBeyond Belief
A Film by Beth Murphy and Principle Pictures
Monday, March 8, 6:45 pm
In honor of International Women's Day

Beyond Belief is a film featuring Susan Retik and Patti Quigley, two ordinary soccer moms living in the affluent suburbs of Boston until tragedy strikes. Rather than turning inwards, grief compels these women to focus on the country where the terrorists who took their husbands' lives were trained: Afghanistan. Over the course of two years, as they cope with loss and struggle to raise their families as single mothers, these extraordinary women dedicate themselves to empowering Afghan widows whose lives have been ravaged by decades of war, poverty and oppression - factors they consider to be the root causes of terrorism. From the ruins of the World Trade Center to those of Kabul and back, theirs is a journey of personal strength and international reconciliation, and a testament to the vision that peace can be forged . . . one woman at a time. This film has received numerous accolades including Official Selection: Tribeca Film Festival; Winner, Best Film: Woods Hole Film Festival; Official Selection: Hamptons International Film Festival; and Winner, Audience Award: Newburyport Documentary Film Festival. Beth Murphy has been directing, producing, and reporting for documentaries and television and radio news for 18 years. As the founder of Principle Pictures, Beth has contributed programming to The History Channel, Discovery Channel, Lifetime Television, PBS and numerous international media outlets. She has won two Gracie Allen Awards from American Women in Radio and Television.

The program is free and open to the public. Come and prepare to be inspired!

Faces of Highfield: Upper Cape Tech's Horticultural Students
upper cape kids
Students from the Upper Cape Cod Technical High School's Horticultural Department have been working at Highfield Hall on the Rhododendron Dell located behind the mansion. After having trimmed the rhododendrons and cleared brush from the area last spring, the students were on site in the fall to restore the steps leading into the dell. Funding for the step restoration was provided by the Falmouth Beautification Council. Many thanks to both the students and the council for their help with this project!
