Box Tops Winner Announced!
Box Tops for Education

Congratulations, Alexandra Coeshott! Alexandra collected 404 Box Tops last month. Great job!

This month's deadline to turn in Box Tops is Friday, October 26th. Remember to turn your Box Tops in to the office with your child's name, total number of Box Tops collected, and teacher's name written on the bag. Let's get collecting!

FAME Docents Needed
If your child has Guncheon, Wilson, Thorson, Doll, Hoffmann, or Rowe as a teacher, and you have an hour or two each month to spare, please consider volunteering to help with the Strandwood FAME program!

The Fine Arts Mini Experience is a PTA sponsored program that introduces every student at Strandwood to a different composer and artist once a month for six months. Interactive lessons use simple props, sets, and costumes. This is one of the most beloved and popular programs Strandwood offers. Let's keep the arts alive!

Our docents are parent volunteers. Teams of two parents teach short art and music lessons to each class in the music room. No prior experience necessary! Docents are given lesson plans and materials the first Tuesday of the month and then give short lessons (10 - 15 minutes per parent) on one of the remaining three Tuesdays of the month.

We still currently have classes that need parent volunteers!! All lesson plans are written out for you and you have flexibility to use, edit, or adapt as you wish! Docents learn about art and music as much as the kids and it is rewarding for everyone involved.

Please consider volunteering for one or more teachers at the times below:

Guncheon 10:10 - 10:40am
Wilson 10:45 - 11:15am
Thorson 12:25 - 12:50pm
Doll 1:00 - 1:25pm
Lessons are taught on 10/16, 11/13, 1/22, 2/19, 3/19, 4/23
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hoffmann 11:45am - 12:10pm
Rowe 12:15 - 12:40pm
Lessons are taught on 10/23, 11/27, 1/29, 2/26, 4/2, 4/23
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

PTA Survey
by Dante Siracusa
We have created a quick survey asking a few questions that relate to PTA meetings and parents' schedules. Please take a few minutes to fill out this anonymous survey so that we can better understand why more parents are not attending meetings and what we can do to change that! Thank you so much for your time!
