As the warm weather approaches, we need volunteers to assist with watering the newly planted and older plants from May to October. One and a half to two hours per week is all we need. Please join us with a bit of your time to keep all our plants growing well.
The volunteer sign up has been updated with current needs so please check your calendars and choose a week to help water. Click here for the sign-up page. Contact Michael Howard at fireknight1@aol.com with any questions. |
FPHE Awards $36,000 to Pleasant Hill Schools
| |
On May 18, 2012, the Foundation for Pleasant Hill Education (FPHE) awarded $36,600 to support educational activities in Pleasant Hill public schools. The grants were funded as a result of FPHE's 2012 Annual Campaign and various other 2012 fundraisers. Click here for a copy of the press release showing the Grants.
Since 2009, FPHE has awarded over $120,000 and 150 grants to the eleven public schools within the College Park High School feeder pattern.
This year, the Foundation received 58 grant requests and awarded 53 grants to the 11 schools. Every school that requested a grant received one. FPHE grants are awarded based on a combination of criteria, including the number of students impacted and the contribution to or support of language arts, math, science, or other key curriculum areas. A detailed list can be found below.
FPHE thanks and applauds all 2012 donors for placing a high priority on local education and realizing that strong schools benefit the entire community.
