On Sunday, April 22, 2012, Strandwood Elementary School will conduct its annual "Make a Difference Day", which is our garden clean-up and planting day. Volunteers are need to trim, weed, rake, and plant. Also this year, we will be placing Connecticut blue shale along the edges of the grass in the quad to reduce mud being tracked into classrooms.
Volunteers should meet in front of the office. One of the coordinators will direct you to one of the clean up areas. Volunteers are encouraged to bring brooms, rakes, shovels, picks, and gloves.
The work will be done between 9 am and 2 pm. If you can spend 30 minutes or more, we can accomplish so much. Strandwood is a pretty school, and we can work together to help keep it that way. It's also a great way to celebrate Earth Day.
