Read and Dream logs are DUE THIS FRIDAY, the 27th of January. 

 

100% Participation Awards Update:

 

So far Mrs. McCaffrey's 4th/5th grade class and Ms. Schuster's 2nd grade class have achieved 100% participation for Read and Dream.  In October both classes were presented with a certificate and each class was awarded 2 books for their classroom.  Can you help your class become the next 100% participation class?  In order to qualify every student in a class must be part of the Read and Dream Team.  Keep on reading and get your logs in on Friday!

It's time once again to start thinking about your act for the Annual Talent Show! Get your dancin' shoes out, your musical instruments tuned, warm up your voice.... and GET READY!
 
Performance dates for the 2011 Strandwood Talent Show are Friday, April 20th and Saturday April 21st. Save the date!!

Kindergarten Registration
From MDUSD.org
Pre-registration of children eligible for kindergarten in August 2012 will be conducted in all Mt. Diablo Unified School District elementary schools on a first-come basis starting Tuesday, February 7, 2012. 
 
Children who will reach the age of five (5) years on or before November 1, 2012, are eligible for kindergarten in August.  Parents should bring the following documents with them:  an original birth certificate or some otherofficial documentary proof of the child's birthdate; three original documents to verify where the child resides (one must be a photo ID); and a written immunization record from a health care provider indicating that all immunization requirements listed below have been met.  
 
Check the District Kindergarten Registration web page by clicking here or call your child's school to verify documents needed as proof of residency.  Please bring any completed school entry physical examination and dental examination. 
MDUSD Board Meeting is Tonight

The MDUSD Board of Education will hold their next meeting tonight at the district offices, 1936 Carlotta Drive, Concord. To view the entire agenda click here. Listed below are some of the items up for discussion or decision tonight. 

9.11 (Item #11) Procurement of Switching Hardware Necessary to Support Implementation of the 2010 Measure C Technology Improvement Program      
 
15.7 MDUSD Board Action Accountability Progress Report. Adoption of this tool will increase the Board and district's public accountability by allowing the Board to explicitly monitor and give or receive reports on progress of all Board actions, decisions, and projects.
 
Is Your Child Too Sick for School?

If your child has a fever of 100.4°F or higher, it indicates that her body could be trying to fight off a viral infection, which means she could be contagious. Keep her away from other kids until she's fever-free for 24 hours without the help of medication.
