Strandwood Community Outreach
By Debbie Wilson
Many of you may have noticed there have been several families within our Strandwood Community that have been dealing with very difficult circumstances: illness, job loss, home loss, and even death.  There have been a variety of ways in which our community has tried to rise up and help those individual families; however, we are concerned that some families may have slipped through the cracks and therefore have not been given the support that they needed or wanted.

If you know of a family (or are a family) who is experiencing a difficult time and would like some support or even just to let our Strandwood community know via a website post, please put a note in the Community Outreach box in the office or send an email to Debbie Wilson at community@strandwood.org .  Please include your name, the concern, and a phone number where you can be reached (you will be contacted before anything is posted on the Strandwood Community blog.

Fall Fest Winners
By Cindy Turner
Thank you so much to all of our tremendous parent volunteers who put their time, energy and creative juices into making this the BEST Fall Fest yet! We had a record number of parents and children in attendance - the games were busy, the food line long (sorry about that) and the cake walk was hopping. Strandwood families never cease to amaze us - the cakes were out-of-this-world, the pumpkins were creative and the bake sale was overflowing with donated cookies, cupcakes and tasty treats.

Another big thank you to all of the parents who donated baked goods to the sale - we raised $652 for the Outdoor Ed program. All extra cookies and treats were donated to Loaves & Fishes in Concord and enjoyed by many people beyond our Strandwood community.
