5th Grade End of the Year Celebration
Calling all 5th graders and their parents to turn in their invitations to the End of Year Celebration for Sat, June 4th! We have had a good response so far, but need to have some final numbers. Please turn them in to your teachers ASAP, along with a description of the dessert you will be bringing and the $5 donation to the envelope in your classroom. This will be the time to hang out with the group one last time, listen to some good tunes, watch some skits, sign yearbooks and say "farewell'! Hope to see you there!

Meep Meep - I'm Back
After considerable discussion the PTA Executive Board has voted to bring back the logo that represented Strandwood Elementary for many years. Over the summer we will be shifting many of the logo uses back to this version.
One of the problems with the recent logo was our inability to go to any vendor to have products made. Since this older logo was created by a Strandwood parent years ago we don't have the copyright issues we currently have. |

Spring Cleaning - Nutcracker Costumes Wanted
The calendar says Spring but by the looks of our most recent weather, I'm a bit doubtful. Still, we will eventually need to make room in our drawers and closets for summer shorts. In preparation for next year, we are collecting clothes for a Nutcracker Costume Closet. Our hope is to collect gently used Nutcracker costumes that can be loaned out and borrowed next year - thereby greatly reducing the numerous, anxious emails looking for a white leotard or running to Target to grab the last pair of gray pants. We will be collecting the following items: Party dresses (size 8-10), ties, black shirts & black pants (Little Mice costume), white turtlenecks, light gray shirts and pants (Gingersnaps), white, black and beige leotards and ballet shoes. There will be a box available in the office to donate your items. If you wish to make special pick-up arrangements, please contact Cindy Turner at pcturner@sbcglobal.net. Thank you so much for your support! P.S. - If anyone is interested in working with Nutcracker next year, we do have a few open positions and would love to talk with you! |
