Final School Closure Committee Meeting Tonight
Tonight is the final meeting of the School Closure Committee. They will choose between 2 and 4 scenarios to be presented to the MDUSD Board of Education. The board will either accept one of the scenarios at a January meeting or choose one of their own. Even though Strandwood isn't one of the schools mentioned for closure we can be impacted by a few of the committees scenarios. I'm sure there will be an article in Tuesday or Wednesday's Contra Costa Times and we will get those links out to you when possible.

Don't Cook. Get Out for Outdoor Ed
Your December Opportunity to Help.
Salad photo Feel like you need a mid-season cleansing from the usual holiday fare?  Join us for lighter cuisine to ease the guilty palate at Sweet Tomatoes on Thursday, December 16, between 5:00 - 8:00 PM and support Strandwood Outdoor Ed!  In partnership with Sweet Tomatoes, the Strandwood Outdoor Education Program is on its 2nd attempt to encourage "goodwill dining" to raise money to send current 4th grade students to a week-long 5th grade outdoor education program next November 2011.

Fifteen percent of your bill at Sweet Tomatoes will support this highly anticipated 5th grade tradition.  On that day, eliminate the worry of what to feed the family when you're working late, out doing errands, or holiday shopping.  Pick up dinner or skip the dishes altogether, all for a good cause.

Please click here for the flyer and present it to the cashier.

For more information, please contact Belinda Sullivan at brcsullivan@sbcglobal.net
